ONE LITTLE MISTAKE

I made one change to my browser last week and lost all ability to comment on my own blog or on anybody else's blog for that matter. It took some tweaking to make it right again. Can you imagine what would happen if I was to go all Lex and decide to mess around with SQL?

Exactly! You'd never hear from me again.

I am ever reluctant to tinker with things. I'm a big believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" or "if it's just a little bit broke, ignore it, maybe it will go away."

Messing with SQL? Dear Lord, unleashing chaos, that's what that is!

Didja have to show one of my old ships (and a pretty good one, too) in her death throes?

You and I share the same mantra. I sometimes had to fight the power in order from doing something really stupid with perfectly functioning machinery that trend analysis showed was in perfect tune/sync and if it failed for lack of maintenance in 5000 hours, it would THEN get the deferred maintenance it didn't need even though the preventative maintenance system called for a full tear down and class B overhaul. 6000 miles from anywhere is not the time to mess with good gear.

Sorry about that.

OTOH, it always gives me such a warm feeling to see the effect of a single torpedo on a warship particularly after attending the ASWIP meetings at FLTASWPAC. I always figured we'd take a beating if it came to ASW until our subs and air wiped the seas clean of enemy subs. Until then it was going to be very hard on ships.
